Friday… PET scan 15!

Not a lot to report really although it was good to see the team from the PET centre again. The scan itself was much like all the others (with two notable differences) but the ‘exciting’ bit will be the results next Thursday. However I have a warm feeling about that!

But I said that there were differences in the procedure! One was that I was filmed by City Hospital for more footage for the ‘feature’ they have been doing over the last few months. This should be screened next Friday – the last in the current series. I went up to the City Hospital offices during my visit, where apart from seeing Rachel, I bumped into (name dropping here) Nadia Sawalha who is presenting the current series and who interviewed me a couple of years ago.

The second difference was that the PET centre seems to have had a new delivery of up-to-the-minute, latest chic, catwalk-hot hospital gowns. You may know the sort I mean – the shapeless ones that are oversize with lots of tie tapes that tie at the back (usually missing) and stamped “For hospital use only” (to prevent the removal of these high fashion items by patients!) Anyway – these were new, had all the ties, so I could walk down the coridoors and be filmed with some semblance of modesty – although after three transplants, there isn’t much modesty left!

Other than that it was an uneventful day, although it was pretty cold up in London – but then come to think of it, it isn’t that much better at home – where it is raining too!

Peter. Could the ‘warm feeling’ be the radiation? I hope not as we are nearly totally uncrossed now waiting for the very good news and with that result able to walk in straight lines again……..until the Pimm’s takes over.

    Hi Peter

My fingers will be crossed until thursdays posting – makes it really hard to type though. Mind you, my keyboard skills have never been that good so as yet nobody has noticed!

Richard – Do you think a Pimm’s would help improve my skills? I guess after a couple I wouldn’t care either way. I’m a bit of a lightweight when it comes to drinking.

    Hi Peter
Am only just catching up after being away – again! A good week in the Lake District (south, brothers are in north, with friends from Leeds and Durham) – despite the buckets of rain! (Eat you heart out south easterners!)
Just before going away my washing machine died with a dreadful scrunch, I now have a magic new one but there is now a pile of… – just wondered if you were taking in ironing as occupational therapy!
Am in Newcastle just now and going home via friends in Edinburgh – then home for a quiet spell!
Keep up the good progress, it is great to hear/read you whenever, thanks again.

Oh dear another typo, more Pimm’s please. You might try copying it into Word with the appropriate font. There again you might not want to bother……..cheers……..not long now until Thursday and then perhaps our anatomy may be allowed to be restored to normal.
