Monday… again (14 days on)

Just realised that it is two weeks since the last post – and I suppose that is an indication that there is nothing much to report, either healthwise, or anything else!

On the health front, the coldy cough has lingered, but the improvement in the weather seems to be seeing it off – not before time! It is something I will mention at the next check up in May.

On the ‘other’ front, things have ticked on pretty much as normal. My parents came down for the weekend, and although I was out for some of the time (another little job) we went out for a meal on Saturday evening. Next weekend we are away for a wedding, and then we are into Easter. I am still waiting to hear that the contract extension has been approved – I am reasonably confident (and I have kept the flat on for at least another month) but I think I might have a little break over Easter week.

So really things are continuing “Onwards and Upwards”! 🙂

How can you say nothing is going on!! Someone has a birthday (no not me) coming up – are you trying to keep this a secret so that we don’t get carried away?

Break open that icebox, and get that cocktail shaker out

Peter is your little break a reference to chocolate?

Off to see the Paris Glums today and tonight a meal at a local refurbished eatery with four others born on this day,……………..seems odd to have to share it with so many locals.

No booze though, I know, I know but I have had a tradition of having a rest, well my liver at least, through Lent and this year have even avoided the Sunday refreshment day loop-hole, a practice mainly kept secret by priests and vicars

Makes an interesting time as I am the full time driver.

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me etc

Richard – fancy sharing a birthday with Peter!! Funnily enough it’s not my birthday until May 😉

I hope you had a good one, and not long now until you can imbibe again

    Cheers!

Well, actually, Gillian I can ‘drink’ when ever I like it is just I made myself a promise not to imbibe until after Easter and have a blood test to check liver function.

22 years ago I had hepatitis and was told I should not drink for 12 months. But after 6 I had a clear test and was told that I could frequent the local again particularly as they needed the trade but I did go to the pub but continued to have soft drinks for the other 6 months as I, again, had given myself a challenge

Ever since I have had the odd test to see if my liver is still coping, the challenge now is to remember the wheelbarrow to allow someone to get me home after a session. 🙂

Tomorrow is the Ideal Home Exhibition, courtesy of free tickets from Martin’s Money Tips so likely to have lots of free nibbles and coffee.
Must just keep the credit card under control when faced with a whole exhibition full of technical gizmos and widgets.

    Bottoms up.

I bow to your superior will power oh wise one xx

Have a good day at the ideal home, I admire your stamina, only managed to get hubby there once and he vowed never to go back – now he hides out on the golf course 😀

me – I’m just looking forward to all those choccie eggs – yum

Not sure you’ll get me there again either, just shows your man’s good taste (creep 🙂 )

If it hadn’t been for the free tickets courtesy of Martin’s Money Tips the £17 (yes £17) each would definitely have put me off. Now my neighbour (who also shares the 24th birthday clan) stayed all day. We all got there just after 11 and were gone by 1.30 including lunch and home by 3.30. She stayed and I went to the station to pick her up at 7.30. Not sure but they must have looked and talked to every stall holder.

This year’s recurring theme seemed to be hot tubs and sheds to keep them in. Some of the tubs were huge, more like communal baths for the whole parish.

Chocolate eggs are in abundance as Lewis (Grandson) is having his birthday party here and there are plans for an egg hunt and one or two Pi?atas just to add some danger. How else can you describe blindfolded children with sticks?

    ENJOY

Local pub is providing the easter egg hunt roung the village – so don’t have to worry about that one

Ahh……… blindfolded kids with sticks, just be wary of the height at which you hang the pinata – and stay well out of the way
