Monday… let it snow…

And it is – as I write! I was up early this morning to find a reasonable dusting of snow on the car, ready to drive up to the West Country. Given the snow, I decided that driving across Salisbury Plain was not a good idea! In fact the A34 was pretty clear up to the M4, so apart from keeping my speed down, the journey wasn’t too bad and didn’t take much longer than normal. However since arriving, the snow has caught up with me, and there are intermittent flurries and about an inch on the ground outside.

With all the concentration on the job, the third anniversary of my transplant on January 9th went un-remarked – which I think is probably a good indication of the progress made in ‘getting my life back’!

So, Onwards and Upwards!

An inch, AN INCH, apart from the lack of metric measurement so little snow doesn’t count on the National scale of public bar discussion topics.

Take care though snow then ice can be tricky stuff unless you have titanium spikes in your tyres.

Richard up to my eyes in it………….

True! Those of us that remember the great freeze of 1962/63! I had a bicycle for Christmas – it snowed on Boxing day, and I didn’t get to ride it until March!

-6C this morning and 2 inches (5.08cm) of powdery snow on the car!

ahh…….. I was just a babe in arms then 😀

Good job you didn’t try to get across Salisbury Plain this morning – we had a good 4inches of snow last night

Well, school was cancelled for Jonathan and me, because we had so much snow! And what a great time we had – building snowmen and having snowball fights!

However, now we’re back at schol and I’m having to negotiate an ice rink before reaching the main road!
    Safe travels!
    Lots of love,
    Liz
