Thursday… Winter bites!

Winter SceneI suppose we are no worse off (and probably better) than most of the country, but this was the scene that greeted us this morning. (and more pictures in the Gallery).

It seems to have been a long time since the last entry, longer than I normally leave it, but quite a lot going on. No sign yet of another contract, but feelers are still out there. I have been up to London for my penultimate ECP session, which went as uneventfully as usual, with the last one scheduled for January 2011. January 2011 – seems just round the corner!

I have also had a really bad cold for the last few days. I always get at least one really nasty one a year (since the transplant – but small price to pay!) but I think I picked this one up from Livvy.

OliviaI have been on (play) school pick up duty a couple of times, bringing her back here, cooking her some tea (Scrambledy eggs!) and looking after her until Vikki can pick her up. It feels really odd hanging round with other parents – a real travel back in time! And it has been a while since I posted a photo of Livvy here – quite a change – she is nearly 4, born if you recall, when I was having a couple of health snagettes in Southampton General.

And with Christmas round the corner, it will soon be time to get out the decorations, and decorate the blog in its traditional festive manner! Watch this space.

So all ticking along – may things continue Onwards and Upwards!

Lots more photos! As much snow there as here. Looks very beautiful but not so great when driving on it.

    See you soon 🙂

Yes! It has been a while since I posted any of Olivia. So glad you found the blog and looking forward to catching up on the missing (I won’t say how many) years.

(For those readers with a ‘who’ thought bubble hovering, Julia is an old friend from my school days 🙂 )

Good sign that you can remember 🙂

New sticky tyres have made travel possible but very slow and wary of other vehicles sliding about.

Long lunch in the pub yesterday which was good fun as loads of families there (with dogs) as school closed and no trains.

But very sleepy in the early evening, must be the low light not the beer.

Poor Vivienne left at home working as she has a lot to do in her new job and did not feel she could have a long lunch.

Funny isn’t it, the whole pace of life seemed to slow down, perhaps for the better.

Gosh it was -10 earlier but already warming up.

Let’s hope the rain washes the snow away without freezing on the road a real test for my winter tyres.

    Keep warm

I’m also hoping for rain next week both in England and Switzerland so my plane can reach Gatwick with not too many delays.

Only -9 here now and my winter tyres seem to be coping ok. Better than the buses in Lausanne which can’t manage all the hills when it’s snowy.

    See you soon 🙂

Don’t catch cold this week doing your course.

I’m still watching … but not a lot is happening, and I have shopping to do!

Gillian best do it before Thursday and the snow again 🙂

If you are watching it explains the hairs on the back of my neck standing up on end.

Still over a week to go! Need to get up and rummage in the attic for all the decorations!

Still no sign of snow here, so shopping still on the agenda at the moment 😉

Is it my computer or my memory or have the colours changed on here since last week? Aahh…clic…Christmas decoration of blog. Lovely.

My tree is not yet bought (well, not much time since I only got home from London around 19.00) and boxes of deco up in loft.

    Tomorrow is another day.

If you are still suffering with cold/flue try the Oz remedy of Extract of Olive Leaf, tastes foul so must be good.

My neighbour speaks highly of Askit Powders, being from Scotland she is used to colds etc and hangovers 🙂 But we asked the local village pharmacy to get some in and our Australian visitors last month had some sort of flu from China and swore they were the best thing they had tried. Power of suggestion????

Sounds like Acai berries to me! But cold definitely better than it was!

Need to finish decorating the blog too!
