Monday… busy week!

Not necessarily for me, but watching events unfold in the political arena. Interesting times!

On the home front, we went down to a family wedding in Cornwall – I drove home from Corsham on Friday afternoon in time for an optician’s appointment when it was confirmed that I had conjunctivitis, so that meant a quick trip to the doctors top get a prescription for some eye drops.

Once that was done it was off to Cornwall (Lostwithiel) arriving at about 9:30. It was my youngest cousin getting married, but it was good to see them all and catch up on family news. On Sunday we popped over to see my Uncle, and then it was the long(ish) drive back home – before I set off back to Corsham!

I drove home again on Monday, ready to travel up the London on the Tuesday morning for my haematology check up. I had just bought my ticket and paid the car parking charge when I had a call saying the Dr Kazmi (consultant) wouldn’t be there (but other members of the vteam would be). However, just before I got into Waterloo, there was another call saying that he was now in!

The check was fine – nothing untoward, apart from my immune system and this persistent niggly cold. I left with a prescription for more anti-biotics and the possibility that I may have an immunoglobulin transfusion to give it a bit of a boost.

Back to Corsham for three days then back to the optician’s where it seems I still have mild conjunctivitis (although my eyes are a lot better now) but not as severe as the week before.

Olivia (now 3ys 4 months!) stayed over on Friday night but much of the weekend was spent finishing off the work on the client’s server – and then back to Corsham. It seems I may have left hospital with more than a prescription as I have the snuffles back again!

One little landmark – this is my 450th blog entry!

Still, a relatively minor thing, so “Onwards and Upwards”

Ah yes those little niggly niggles – don’t they just drive you BONKERS.
Had fab day at hospital on wednesday – son and girlfriend down from Yorkshire for few days – they took me and as it happened there was only my ole chemo chum Julie and me for treatment. It developed into a kind of party as we all landed up sharing Julie’s treatment room.

It was great for Alex and Laura to see what happens to me on treatment days.
Started my new biological therapy regime – drug callled Erlotinib . This is tablet form and have to take one every day – checkup in 2 weeks for progress and now need to look out for more and different side effects – hair loss AGAIN – hey ho. I also had my 3 weekly Zometa (bone hardening) infusion.

Definite dates for my week in the hospice – 3rd to 10th June – I am SO hoping Christine manages a restful week of doing what she wants to do for a change.

And whilke initially they seem insignificant, as time goes by they become more intrusive!

So it is likely to be back to the woolly hat again? Or slapping on the suncream (maybe!)

    Hello

Sorry been away and troubled with my Father in hospital, is Pilgrims in Canterbury Simon?

Dad has been in St Martin’s but there should be a discharge meeting tomorrow which hopefully will mean he can go back to the residential home at Sittingbourne.

As he is 94 he is entitled to cause a few problems…………about the only time he has used the NHS

Looks like you may need the slap Simon if today is anything to go by.

Back on the wine again so up late is again the order of the day (evening)

A little complication as I bought a new laptop from the Toshiba at tbe Outlet Centre at Ashford and could not make the W7 work with the two XP machines here. Now all seems ok so relaxed and looking forward to mowing again tomorrow.

Peter why does the automaitc spell checker on Firefox appear not to work on your site?

Look forward to hearing from you Simon and watching Peter’s rpgrossedds 🙂

    Richard
