Tuesday

Suffering a bit at the moment – I am covered in what looks like a nettle rash, and major sniffles. I’m not sure if the sniffles are a cold, or anything to do with the rash, whch I hope is GvHd (The alternative would be an allergy to one of the anti-biotics I am taking). I did ring Guy’s this morning for some advice – their opinion is that it is GvHd, but as I am going to visit the haematology department after seeing the radio-therapist tomorrow, they are happy to wait until then! However I suspect I will be coating myself with topical steroids tomorrow evening!

Ah well, no-one said this would be easy! Anyone got a back scratcher???

Shame, horrid to be iching all over…….shame it cannot be tropical instead of topical………

If you put your web-cam on your laptop, facing the wrong way, mount the computer on the edge of a table or ideally higher surface with the keyboard away from you, adjust the angle, turn round and gently do a Baloo against the camera……..relief 🙂

hi peter i agree mate GVHD sucks i’m 18 months Post transplant and still suffering from GVHD of the skin which is a real bummer i know. I found a mixture of a base cream with Menthol does the trick at relieving the itchyness. hope they sort it out for you sooner rather than later.

Am a bit behind with reading the blog, (delighted that it continues!) You will have had the next appts etc, so I look forward to the results. Sorry about the itching – the only good thing is the thought that they’re GVL working away – I remember an all over rash (due to some other allergy) and I had only to LOOK at cheese (which I love) to feel a surge of itchiness! Slap on the steriods (when permitted), and enjoy the relief – what about an antihistamine or will that be taboo? Progress, progress and the suffering to get there!

John – thank you for the comment – unfortunately I deleted it by mistake while it was in moderation! Slapping on the steroids as I type!
