Wednesday… 2 to go

Tower Bridge (open)I wasn’t going to post today, as the radiotherapy was much like the other days, and my throat and mouth are about the same too, but on my way back to the flat I saw Tower Bridge opening to let a French warship through – unfortunately I was a bit late getting back to the flat to get the warship in the picture!

This morning passed very pleasantly – coffee with a former work colleague (now working in London) and the first mince pie of the season, followed by a stroll round the shops before heading back to ‘head office’ to catch up on work related e-mails, and then off to St Thomas’s.

Only two more doses to go – I am seeing one of the radiologists on Friday, then it’s home and start recovering from the side effects!

O&U!

    Hi Peter,
Well my journey has begun! Started chemo & so far, so good. Been allowed to sleep at home until Friday, which is a bonus I wasn’t expecting!
I’ll get a transplant room from tomorrow morning, which one of the patients (Mark) kindly let me check out today. Looks okay, just a bit confused as to where I hang up my clothes!?

Staff all seem lovely but sadly the food so far has been grim!
    Stay positive,

    Sarah

Good luck Sarah – Mark had his first transplant at the same time I was in, last January. I know what you mean by the food (did you see my page about it?) and the neutropenic diet isn’t much better! Get (your) Mark to bring in lots of food – chocolate is good! And when the sore throat starts, those milk nutrition drinks are OK – keep them in the fridge and sip them through the straw. If you haven’t got one, a Freeview box is useful, television reception is rubbish, but you can get a reasonable digital signal – and beats the rip-off patientline!

Peter (and Sarah) lots of good wishes etc.

Peter…….what are the French up to? They do not send troops to help us out when needed and now seem intent on ‘sending a gunboat’ to London.

    Richard
I suppose we could refuse to open the bridge and keep the ship.

    Peter

I am amazed at your influence – all you have to say is Onwards and Upwards and Tower Bridge responds!!!!!!!!

Hope the gremlins respond when you say Onwards and Out.

    Keep smiling

Peter & Sarah – many many chocolate kisses (if only Green & Blacks did them instead of Herseys!)

Hope it all goes well for both of you

by the way Peter, having to dust off an Elf costume, being enlisted to help in Santa’s grotto, they didn’t want a fairy 🙁

    Love and Hugs

    Gillian

Gillian, are you responsible for safety? Then you can be Elf and safety! (boom boom)

Green and Blacks – highly recommended!

    Neil – I didn’t like to boast!

Richard – some gunboat – I’ll see if I can get a ‘shot’ of it tomorrow!

    Shot, of? off at? at?

Make sure you get all the rigging and topgallants in the picture.

Spars crossed for the next two sessions.
