Sunday… success!

Finally got the system up and running on the new, bigger, quieter disk drive, so the major tweaking is complete! As always with these things, hindsight is wonderful, and I can now see where the problems lay! Oh well, it’s when things don’t go as expected that you start learning!

So now I can get back to using the blog as intended (and Gillian and Richard can start playing again!

And the next item on the health agenda is a visit to my GP tomorrow – that was to have been for a diving medical, however I’m not so sure about that now, and then up to Guy’s on Tuesday for the results of the PET scan. I haven’t heard from them, so it could be good news – in that I didn’t need to take the steroids they gave me – or bad, in that they didn’t want to spoil my holiday! We shall see, but in an optimistic mood, (and sorry about the downbeat one on Friday) I hope onwards and upwards…! (Richard – better cross those fingers again)

B###er, and blow I can’t play with Gillian with my fingers and stuff crossed.

Interestingly, well for me, I have just moved to Outlook and IE 7 and it comes with a spell check on pages like this…….good for mi. 🙂

We will be thinking of you Peter and hoping in one way that the original purpose of this blog will not be needed shortly.

Still it will be good playing with Gillian’s new toys when I am uncrossed.

I have just come back from the gym and realise that in my case signing off should be ……..outwards 🙁

    cya

Bit more re-arranging of the disc space and even more space to play!

Thank you for your comments on Friday’s post, Gillian – glad the conservatory has self cleaning glass, makes the rain useful!

Richard, using Opera 9.02 to write this – I suppose I could write the posts in a word processor! (Still, muy parents proof read after I’ve posted!

    Peter:
You have had a grim time – all these computer problems I don’t understand! You always seem so positive and I’m sure that infects all your readers. Hope all goes well at the GP’s.

Who needs a software spell checker when they’ve got hardware parents like us?

  6. John on 01 Oct 2006 at 10:48 pm #

Mum and Dad: Good to know you are there but I always thought of parents as being soft-cuddlyware. 🙂

  8. Dad on 02 Oct 2006 at 9:23 am #

Can anyone join in the hugging – please?
I am only just reading the last weeks’ blog etc as I’ve had a couple of days ‘off’ – in the general scheme of things not significant but major to me. I’m lucky to have had a good visit to the consultant today (will write my blog after this), so I feel bad in the light of your anxieties, PJB. I hope and wish all the good things for you, and a good PET result and positive GvHD reaction.
Felicity – if you didn’t have enough to worry about with P, you tragically loose your father. I am so sorry. If you need someone to shout at, try me (although I’m aware you have great inner strengths – just sometimes, Pimms won’t do!)
    L’n’Hs, O&U, as ever, Elspeth

Last night’s screens made me blue……….hard to ‘swallow’.

Let’s hope that today’s news will give us something to crow about.

    Beaks crossed

    Richard

  20. Gillian on 03 Oct 2006 at 9:22 am #

Pity about the blue screen, ‘robin’ us of our playground, see you were up with the lark to compensate though.

Let’s hope there’s nothing to ‘owl about later.

    Wings crossed twice

All this waiting makes me want a carbo fix…….Gillian have you got a penguin ? You are so far away I will need eyes like a hawk to find one.

I notice that another drink is said to be healthy, cider….woodpecker?

Peter did you see the golf?……….more to come……………

    Good luck and tanlons crossed.

    Richard

It’s my Tern now as I’m going Cockoo waiting for Peter’s news. I feel a bit of a T*t as I went to Woolworth to buy a Kingfisher brand teal jumper and came out with a Yellow hammer……..then for lunch had a little bit of bread and no cheese……….

    Crossed tails (tales)
