Wednesday… from Lausanne

Just a brief update on the blog as the Christmas decorations are put away for another year!

I had an excellent New Year in Lausanne, and for the last two days I have been up in the mountains at Leukerbad (Loèche-les-Bains). This is a natural thermal spa resort about 1,400m above sea level. Yesterday was spent in the spa complex, and today we went up in a cable car to one of the ski centres (not to ski!) – 2,300m asl. Absolutely stunning scenery and there will be some photos on the next blog entry!

With the altitude, O & U takes on a new significance, but the mountain air and the spa water must have had an effect because I feel really well!

So we head into 2011 very much Onwards and Upwards!

(and a quick hello to Liz, who has re-discovered the blog!)

    FROM Goudhurst

Had feet nibbled yesterday. Not as spectacular as going up the mountains in a cable car but interesting experience just the same.

The only interest round here at the moment is cable to the cabinet 🙂

Have a safe trip and I hope you are on winter tyres

Richard shorter by the depth of the hard skin sucked off

    From GRATELEY

Back at work now, and suffering from Jeremy Kyle withdrawal symptons. Will have to persuade our Test section at work to tune all the TV’s to this instead of the sports channel they normally have on 😉

Managed to have an extremely close encounter with a deer so am now waiting for a new headlamp to be delivered and then fitted (the joys of owning a german car!) and I think I have now heard every deer joke going now (no, I have i-deer where it came from!)

    Still from GOUDHURST

(could be Greatly on the Downs in honour of Gillian)

Be careful Gillian Apple are very defensive of the ‘i’ .

Was J Kyle in the reserves as I do not remember him batting or bowling. Still didn’t they do well?

Nothing wrong with German cars (apart from the price and cost of spares) we have four, if you include my daughter who live in the next village now).

After the flawed ‘Race to Infinity’ we are looking at setting up our own fibre scheme which if it works will be very exciting. Well for the geeks and those who need a high speed connection for working from home or local business unit.

Also thinking of setting up a local business forum (meeting in a pub naturally) so will be a little busy over the next few months.
