Monday… Holiday beckons!

Olivia & treeTime to get festive with the Christmas theme!

It was a very cold and frosty weekend – however the fire made everything quite toasty! Felicity was working so I was ‘in charge’ (well, nominally!) while my parents were visiting. But we had a good weekend, with Vicki bringing Olivia round and we decorated the Christmas tree. Felicity finished work during the small hours of Sunday morning, and spent some of Sunday recovering!

I hope it is cold and frosty for Katie, who has gone to France with the University ski club for a week of snow-boarding – she returns on Christmas Eve.

I was somewhat amused to hear about this item on the news this morning! As you know, I have been less than complimentary about hospital catering – good to hear that the media has finally caught up! (Perhaps they ought to read my blog!)

The annual ‘news letter’ has been drafted and will be sent out by e and snail mail in the next few days, and will be linked here. And this is the last week at work for 2007, I finish on Friday for two weeks!

Finally, a recent text from Simon “Still smiling, although feeling rather tired” – keep it up Simon – we are with you all the way!

So onwards and upwards!

Festive greetings and best wishes. There seems to have been a large plant that has grown through your drawing room floor, just as well that you have a couple of weeks to deal with it. Is everyone off then for 14 days. Good job Radio 4 and Today don’t do that as apart from missing the early morning news some isolated submariner might press the big red button 🙂

Keep Simon going if he is still at Faversham he will have Christmas is a Dickens like atmosphere if it stays frosty or s***s (not to mention the ‘s’ word.

Christmas is much enhanced by children and the fun we have playing with their toys. Playmobil seems to be the theme here this year so lots of little pieces to tread on.

    Happy Christmas everyone.

    Richard

Thanks so much to all for their best wishes – the chemo is bearable if gutsy – altho it has allowed me to see a ‘slap ‘ead’ version of myself – WHICH I actually like – have decided to keep the style!! Still in Faversham Richard and looking forward to Christmas which I love. Kind regards to all – Simon

Apologies for being so silent recently – too wrapped up in my own preps for the 2nd of Jan. I love your Santa and the count down to Christmas – it hits my panic button ‘only 6 more days to go’! BEST WISHES TO YOU, PETER, AND THE FAMILY, and also to your Blogreaders. L’n’Hs, ooxxoo

Simon – I thought that wasn’t meant to happen! Still – it is an antidote to ‘bad hair days’! I hope you have a woolly cap – they are really worth their weight in gold – especially in this weather! (Sorry your post was delayed appearing – it somehow ended up in the moderation queue again!)

Elspeth – Enjoy the preparations – and we look forward to seeing some photos on your photogallery!

    Liz – Thank you!

Richard – Olivia just a little too young for the playmobil (although there is still some in the attic for when she is a littlre older – surprising how many toys have surfaced again!
