Friday… apologies!!

For not updating this during the week – but it has been busy again! Not just during the day, but evenings as well, with some visitors and a late evening at work.

However I am well, although last weekend I had some severe sniffles – to the extent that I logged on to the Swine ‘flu helpline, but as I didn’t have a temperature, it seemed I was OK. And in fact the sore throat has gone, and although I am still a little sniffly, I feel much better now. We also had various cousins and nephews visiting last weekend, so we had a housefull on Saturday night, and a large crowd for Sunday lunch, which was good!

My sister also had a birthday this week, so that was an excuse to nip over for a meal and I also had a visit from my parents who had a look at the flat. And work has been busy too – as we enter the holiday season, people are away, so there is a bit of covering to do. However we are planning a break in September, which I think I need!

And good news from Simon, who has recovered well (and has just told me off for not posting 🙂 ) but I’m sure he will post a comment in due course!

Finally, a goodbye to Margaret from the PET Centre – I’m sorry I missed the leaving bash, but a HUGE thank you to you and the staff for the various scans over the last ten years, and all the very best for the new ventures! Keep in touch!

Anyway – must dash 🙂 – Onwards and Upwards.

Well, I realize that it has been a long time since I sent a message, but we had computer problems. Now all is resolved and at last we are on Broadband and I’ve been able to catch up with your news!

It’s been quite a year for us. Dad is awaiting a bone scan in connection with his prostate cancer, so our fingers are crossed for that. Jonathan and I wentto Cornwall with them for a week to give them a bit of a boost.

Meanwhile, Jonathan has changed schools. He had been doing extreemly well academically and had a place in the fast stream, but he wasn’t happy. Unfortunately, there was a lot of random “bullying” by older boys – simply deciding to trip and floor the younger ones. J had started hiding away at breaktimes, so we had to take the decision to move him. He is now at a selective comprehensive – you have to pass the 11+ to go there, so hopefully not too much has been lost there.

Anyway, lots of love to you all,
    Liz

Talk about “academically” – it’s about time that I could spell “extremely”! I should also correct the fact that the trip to Cornwall included Mum as well! I put my mistakes down to the speed of typing and the late hour!

    Peter,

Do you have any further comments about Patientline or Hospedia as they are now known? Is it good, as bad as previsouly reported or worse?

    Mike,

No, I have rather lost touch with what they are doing. Their website only seems to have had cosmetic name changes, their costs look to be the same – but I haven’t used or had any direct experience of them for some time.

Digits now free to type following the good news…………

The edge seems to have been taken off Patientline/Hospeia(?) as many hospitals are relaxing the use of mobile phones.

Our new hospital, due 2012 will have individual rooms so there will be generally no reason not to have phones, TVs, computers etc.

There has been a bit of a clamp down on GPs using similar schemes where incoming calls generate an income for them at the patient’s expence.

Any way looking goog for Peter and Simon

(where’s Gillian? is she caught on livre de visage )
