Thursday… Chilly June!

Pity about the weather – too good to last! ECP went well, although the early Sunday morning start meant that I had to travel up on Saturday evening for two nights in Gassiot Hpouse at St Thomas’s. Not too bad although the street noise on a Saturday is pretty bad, and of couirse I lost an evening at home! But we did clean up BBQ for a bit of al fresco cooking! The ECP itself was uneventful, and on completion I nipped downstairs to the eye clinic.

The considered opinion is that I don’t have conjunctivitis in the infectious sense, but I am suffereing from mechanical abrasion caused by the dry eyes, another GvHd symptom. I have upped the artificial tear regime, and I also got a prescription for another artificial tear – eyelube which, I’m told, “stings a bit”. I’ll find out tomorrow when I collect the prescription from my GP, but the more frequent use of the artificial ears has helped. I have another appointment with my optician tomorro, so we’ll find out if there has been an improvement.

I was at a trade exhibition yesterday looking at shiny web applications – which was interesting, and back in the office today, and back home again tomorrow afternoon.

And I need to find a dentist. I seem to have lost a filling – but finding one is not easy :(.

Still – Onwards and upwards!

    Hello Peter,
Nice to follow your blog, sorry about the tooth, rather a long way to come to west yorkshire, but there are two good ones here.

    Hi Terry,

    Welcome to my blog!

Well, if you have been Gregory trained, I’m sure you are excellent dentists – perhaps on my next visit to Jane? (Although I think another bit of tooth has just broken off, so it might be a slightly more complicated restoration than it appears!)

But lovely to have you posting here!

    Peter

    Hello Peter,

Just wondering how the ‘artificial ears’ are helping with your conjunctivitis? Another breakthrough in Medical Science??

Jane xx (another pest from the wilds of West Yorkshire)

Terry are there only two good teeth in Yorkshire? Must be something lacking in the water………or beer.

Sometimes Peter the NHS have a reasonable dentist available depending where you look.

Here number one daughter was able to have a temp repair done for little cost until she got to her own but, perhaps better still, number two had her’s repaired in Melbourne for $200 Au and reckons it was a great service and surgery.

We’ll see next week when she is back after being away since Xmas.

    Good news about the treatment

    Any news of Simon?

Jane – pardon? (Sorry – not working very well! 🙂 )

Richard – maybe I ought to go to Oz instead of Rachael? – Although she may have an opinion on that! Only had daily texts from Simon – have tried contacting him, without success, but I think he’s OK…

I live with the dry eyes now – rheumatoid arthritis side effect. When I was seen at Moorfields outpost at St Georges, they also prescribed an anti allergy deop concoction. Check that you are not having this problem too. I look very fetching in the garden in safety googles to avoid bits in my eyes!!!

*sigh* hiding from the footie but it’s really difficult as there is NOTHING ELSE on the television – will have to resort to cleaning the house or the ironing at this rate 🙁

Will just have to have a pimms/glass of wine (or both) to console myself……….

But on the bright side – we do have an NHS dentist 😀

Gillian don’t be silly there is rugby, cricket and motor racing so plenty to choose from

Gillian M – no, don’t think it’s an allergy (although I did wonder if I might have acquired hay fever from my donor! The eyes seem a bit better since I upped the atificial tears regime – even though the GP did lose the prescription!

Gillian – Yup – Pimms all the way – and the address of your dentist is? (Andover isn’t too far to travel 🙂 – but Richard, Melbourne is!)

Dentist is ADP Dentist Co, Blue Hayes, Western Road Andover – we go to Dr Pareek who is excellent – really good with Grace when she had to have teeth out before fitting of braces. I’m sure you should be able to find one closer though – check out the NHS Direct website, I think that’s how we tracked ours down 🙂

and Richard………….. I didn’t realise there was so much choice on the television! Are you saying that there was no need to finish off the whole bottle of Pimms??!!

Personally, I think I need to replenish the supplies… thank goodness I have a girlie pamper weekend to look forward to in a couple of weeks, and a holiday once the dreaded footie has finished (not allowed to go before then!)

That’s odd I could have sworn that there were 11 comments this morning…………that’s before I had a drink.

Gillian if you are going to a Spa(r) look out for Peter reliving his early training 🙂

  12. Peter on 15 Jun 2010 at 8:41 pm #

Richard, there were – sort of. However one was a duplicate of mine, so I removed it in case you were worried about seeing double!

So Gillian will be a bright spa(rk) then?
