Sunday… New theme time

With May just around the corner, the recent good news etc, I thought it was about time for a new theme. Actually there are some practical reasons. Although I originally chose the last theme for the spring-like feel of the photo, the lambs are probably now cutlets, and I always found the ewe a bit menacing! The overall feel of the theme was a bit ‘heavy’ and the sidebar was filling up so much that you had to scroll a long way down to see all of it. So, a new ‘lighter’ theme, with a format in three columns. (Although as the columns are narrower, the right hand sidebar still goes down a long way – room for a bit more tinkering!)

I have tested this with IE, and it seems to be OK, but as always, I think that Firefox or Opera are better alternatives (and still better than IE7, which although – at last – has introduced tabbed browsing pages, still feels a bit clunky). You can download Firefox (it is free) and/or Opera from the link on the right hand bar. Try both – they co-exist quite happily!

BBQYesterday saw an expeditionary mission into the long neglected garden. Apart from a fine crop of thistles, it looks pretty run down, however a bit of gentle weeding and a scalping with the lawn mower got it looking a bit better. However there is some way to go! I found that digging a hole to plant a tree wore me out. I might manage to plant some seeds though!

Last night we went for a BBQ at Olivia’s (!). It got a bit chilly, so I had to lend her my hat…

It is a sunny day again today – I feel the need to BBQ and consume Pimms!

Onwards and Upwards!

To reflect the infamous soccer chant….”who eat all the sheep?”

    Too many for your BBQ?

What a nice fresh and Pleasant Layout. Those lambs were making me drool an awfull lot, most so eating the little blighters. I find if you just let the garden look after itself without any attention from you, it can then be described as Organic and Natural. There are loads of little creatures that are heading for extinction because of people cutting their grass all the time.
I think i might just get to use my BBQ this year. I bought it about 3 years ago and have used it maybe twice due to this blinking illness, damn thing is not gonna stop me this year.

    See Ya!!

Well, if your weather is like ours you’ll be getting the BBQ out again today! Hope you had fun planting the seeds – sounds a much better option than digging holes.

    Lots of love,
    Liz

so is pimm’s the appropriate thing to drink with lamb? Or a nice drop of chianti……

Glad to see you are enjoying the sunshine – we had our enjoyment temporarily curtailed yesterday when a load of bees decided our garden was a good place to make a home – obviously have good taste!! Now, will they leave honey behind……..???

Love and Hugs – but not too upwards as you might hit the bees in the tree

I’ve been away for a few days to a ’50 yrs leaving school’ bash – the school has lept into the 21st century rather well – 33 of our year enjoyed the visit. DELIGHTED to read that returning to work is a reality, but take it gently. Your blog is full of positive things – if you set up an ‘Oliviablog’ I’m sure she’ll be the youngest ever! You/she is giving us all a lot of pleasure, thanks. Onwards and Upwards, L’n’Hs, E.
PS Gillian – did you know that there is concern at the low numbers of bees, and the prog. that set up Spring and Autumn watch were seeking help with observations.

Is the colour scheme chosen here to show a party allegance in the forthcoming local elections – I’m sure that David Cameron andhis pals will e delighted and but for the antic of the present government you’d be up for a knighthood for services to the medical industry ad charitable works.

Great news about the Gvhd and the return to work.

Not sure about the Pimms and Lamb – prefer it with th champagne and BBQ.
