PET scan result – a bit of good news at last!
We drove over to Leeds in the gloom of another May shower (April and May appear to have traded places this year). The weather matched my mood – this hasn’t been the best of weeks, as most of you know, so I was mentally preparing myself for more bad news.
We were shown into an interview room and told that the surgeon would be ‘two minutes.’ After 25 minutes of waiting, my blood pressure was approaching a critical level and my heart must’ve been wondering what on earth it had done to be saddled with me, as it really hadn’t signed up for this level of anxiety.
Finally the surgeon arrived and told us that the team at Jimmy’s seem *almost* convinced that the lesion in my femur is benign, so we can go ahead with surgery. YES!! (it’s funny how your perceptions of life change – here I am, celebrating the fact that I *only* have bowel and liver tumours).
So it’s now down to who has the first available slot to carry out the surgery.
We celebrated this small, but important, victory with a trip to ‘Pizza Express.’ Pizza has never tasted so good
